Narrative
Culicidae Species, mosquitoes, begin their life as tiny wigglers in stagnant water. These ultimately emerge into the familiar mosquitoes that we know. Many species in this family carry deadly diseases including west Nile virus and malaria. Scientists are hard at work inventing methods to control them. However, one of the most effective methods in North America is to remove standing water that accumulates in old cans, buckets, and other junk.
