Narrative

Charaxinae of the New World contain several groups of brilliantly colored, medium-sized, strong-flying butterflies. The Anaeini tribe (including the Anaea genus) and the Preponini tribe (including the Prepona and Agrias genera) belong here. These two tribes in total comprise about 110 total species. There is considerable contradiction and confusion as to the precise naming of many of the species.
